Kevin A. Williams also known by his alias WAK (Kevin A. Williams in reverse) has become one of the most popular African American artists in the nation. The company he founded, WAK Artistry distributes a beautiful collection of 50 lithograph prints and represents the most widely circulated Black art and urban fine art series in North America.

WAK creates his art work using mixed mediums, and then reproduces them as lithographs in various limited and open edition series. WAK is also know for doing some commissioned works every year. Right now, many say he is the best-selling artist in the African-American Art print market.

Both he and his work are very popular and can be seen at national art shows, conferences of African-American groups and major international events, including the Essence Music Festival. His art has been featured on television’s "Law & Order" (NBC) and "Soul Food" (Showtime).

The WAK Artistry line was launched in 1995, and began with as single print, "Taking Her Back." This then brought on his creation of the five-work "Black Love" series which brought him wide acclaim.

He was then commissioned from Motions, the hair-care company, to create "Standing Appointment," a wildly popular work with the hair-care industry. His company is also widely know for "Cream of the Crop," a collection of fraternity and sorority images.

Recent years have included commissioned work for celebrities, such as televisions host and movie producer Oprah Winfrey and comedian Bernie Mac, as well as corporate clients. He formed Soul Visions in May 2003.

Williams combines acrylic and air brush techniques that seem to relate to different generations of people. He relishes the visual expression of love, community, and the family through his paint and brushes and it shows.

He pictures are worth a thousand words and his images act as the cultural billboards for elements of love, intimacy and passion. His intuitive and sensual creations are among the most contemporary African-American art of our time.
